Scope of the Journal

Current natural science & engineering (CNS&E) is an interdisciplinary journal that publishes original research in natural sciences covering all the aspects in the field of energy, environment, materials, carbon footprint, metrology, nuclear, molecular chemistry, and industrial research & engineering. The journal publishes original experimental and theoretical work, review articles, and short communications in the field of basic and applied natural sciences which can benefit society and add to the existing knowledge of the scientific community.  The journal prefers and encourages the articles with novel and completely new ideas supporting the goals of sustainability. All the manuscripts submitted for the journal will be critically peer reviewed by the journals expert reviewer team in the subject area and the final decision on the suitability of the manuscripts to be published in the journal will solely depend on the editor.

Manuscript Types

CNS&E publishes 3 types of papers: Short Communications, Articles and Reviews.

1. Short communications are the articles that report results whose immediate availability to the scientific community is important. They provide rapid communication of important results. Communications are restricted to 3000 words (double-spacing) with a brief abstract of maximum 150 words along with 5-6 keywords. They can contain 3-4 figures or images and are restricted up to 43 references. These communications should be written with novel results in continuous form starting from introductory material with sufficient and precise information regarding how the research was performed, result and discussion followed by concluding remarks. Separate subsections are not allowed in short communication. Additional information regarding material and methods section and/or result section which is not very essential for understanding of the communication can be given as supporting information.
2. Articles should cover the research with thoroughness, clarity, and completeness. There is 8000 word limit in the research article but they should be as concise as possible. The article should be divided into following subsections: 1) Abstract (not more than 350 words) followed by 5 -6 keywords 2) Introduction, 3) Experimental Procedure 4) Results and Discussion 5) Conclusions 6)References

The references in the article is restricted to not more than 60. An article should contain the complete information of the work performed and should not be divided into multiple manuscript form. The practice of salami slicing and plagiarisation is strongly discouraged. All the submitted research articles will undergo peer review process for their quality and novelty before publication in the journal. The final decision will be with editor.

1. Reviews are articles written by area expert with a purpose to acquaint the readers or beginners in the area with recent progress in the specific research field. Reviews should constitute a concise and complete information extracted from the extensive literature surveys beneficial for the non experts in the field. Reviews should be written for a more general audience and provide a balanced view of the topic. Reviews are limited to the double spaced 35 pages of Microsoft word    including figures, tables and references. Number of figure and tables are limited to 20 in review article. There is no restriction on the number of references but it is recommended that the references in the Reviews should be relevant and just not tend to increase the number. Reviews will follow the same peer-review process as research Articles. It will be the responsibility of authors to take the copyright permissions for material that is being reproduced in the reviews and submit to the journal.

Manuscript Preparation

For the initial consideration manuscript must fulfill the following requirements of the journal:

• Manuscript should be in complete form with all the defined sections and labeled figures and images as required by the journal. They should be free from highlights and annotations
• Figures, tables, reaction schemes or equations should be embedded within the text at the relevant place where they are discussed
• The communication, article or review should align with the journal’s length limitations and format.
• For the initial consideration of the manuscript references should be in complete form and should be  submitted in given format  style
• Supplementary Information must be submitted as a separate word file(s).
• All pages of the manuscript should be numbered at the bottom center of the page.
• The ordering of authors should be carefully decided based on their contribution before submitting the manuscript. The change of ordering may be done only in special situations wherein the editor may consider the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of authors after the submission of manuscript. However, after the peer review process no change in author sequence, addition or deletion will be considered by the journal.

Document Format

Authors are requested to use A4 page setting.  The manuscript should be written in Times New Roman font style with 12 point in single column and double spaced. Authors can download the word format for manuscript preparation here

Manuscript Text Components

All the sections in the manuscript must be presented in lucid and concise manner. Introduction should clearly state the research problem, survey and motivation of the work, its relevance and application. The Experimental Procedure section should be simple and precise and  able to give the complete picture of how the work was performed and what tools and instruments were used for the scientific investigations.  In Result and Discussion section authors should discuss the important observations from the study and their significance for the problem/application reported in the Introduction section.  The references in an article should be limited and selective and not more that 60 in an article. It is encouraged by the journal to provide  the exhaustive data in an organized tabular form wherever possible. It will help to give the complete picture to the reader. The captions for the figure should be as concise as possible but at the same time it should be able to convey the complete understanding of the figure without referring the text.

Cover Letter

All the manuscript should accompany by a cover letter briefly describing the work and it suitability for the journal. The cover letter should be a separate word file. It should contain the statement confirming that the contents of the research work are in original form and has not been previously published or under consideration anywhere.

Supporting Information

If manuscript is accompanied by the supporting information file it must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission so that it should be with the reviewers during the peer review. The supporting information will be made available for the readers after the publication.

Preparing Graphics

Graphics/images not less than 600 dpi should be inserted into the main text in the manuscript.  Any graphic taken from some other source should be mentioned in the caption and properly cited.
